Wells diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes

Veteran left-hander David Wells has been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. The Padres say this affliction is “controllable,” and it doesn’t appear that Wells is expected to miss any time. All the same, this latest development doesn’t bode well for an out-of-shape 43-year-old who missed significant time with a knee problems and a bout with gout last year. Don’t bother investing in him outside of deep NL-only formats.
