Chris Iannetta: Will Begin Season As Rockies Starting Catcher

The Rockies released Javy Lopez, clearing the path for Chris Iannetta to begin the season as the Rockies' starting catcher. Lopez had been seen as Iannetta's main competition for playing time, and with him out of the picture, career .249/.310/.397 Yorvit Torrealba is his only competition. The rookie has a spectacular .303/.410/.517 line and 128:160 BB:K ratio in 749 minor league at-bats, but temper your expectations as he gets accustomed to major league pitching.
