Patterson Drops To 0-2 In Spring

Nationals SP John Patterson dropped his spring record to 0-2 with a loss to the Marlins Sunday. He worked three innings, allowing three hits, three earned runs and a walk. He did have four strikeouts. Patterson has now lost both of his spring starts and has a 7.20 ERA through five innings. Patterson is coming off forearm surgery, so his numbers might be a little misleading at this point. He has just pitched in two games and probably hasn't gone full-tilt. Still, he is the ace on a last place team, so his numbers might not be that impressive in 2007. He might not win a lot of games, but his ERA, WHIP and K rate should be very useful as an unheralded injury-risk sleeper on Draft Day.
