Wilkerson To Start In Left For Rangers

If healthy, Brad Wilkerson will be the Rangers' starting left fielder, leaving Frank Catalanotto as the primary designated hitter and a potential platoon partner with Sammy Sosa. Rangers officials firmly believe Wilkerson is better than what he showed in 2006 before right shoulder surgery brought his season to an end. "When I saw him in Montreal and D.C., I always thought he was a solid player," manager Ron Washington said. "I saw him play awesome center fielder, work counts, slap the ball the other way, play the game right."
