Bay Makes First Spring Appearance

Making his first game appearance of the spring, Jason Bay went 0-for-3 as the Pirates’ DH on Wednesday. Bay has been careful not to rush things while coming back from offseason knee surgery, and he’s still a few days away from playing the outfield. Fortunately, he doesn’t think the time missed will set him back at all. "I don't think I'm that far behind," the 28-year-old outfielder said. "I just need a little more timing at the plate." Owners are no doubt counting on his timing to return by Opening Day, as Bay’s combination of power and baserunning acumen make him one of fantasy’s most sought-after outfielders.
