Park: Candidate To Be Mets No. 5 Starter

Starter Chan Ho Park, who reported to camp with no apparent aftereffects from an emergency stomach operation he endured last August, has impressed Mets manager Willie Randolph with his "slurve." The Mets, in search of a veteran arm to offset the inexperience and inconsistency of likely starters John Maine and Oliver Perez, seem to be leaning toward using Park as their No. 5 starter. "He's had some experience and he's done some good things," Randolph said. "We'll see. I like the fact that we have a veteran presence here, a veteran arm. And he looks good; real good, I'd say."
