Young: Has Bumpy Outing Versus Minor Leaguers

Chris Young threw 76 pitches, his longest outing of the spring, in a Minor League intrasquad game on Thursday. He allowed two earned runs on three hits, walked three and struck out four over parts of four innings. It was somewhat of a bumpy outing, especially since he was facing Minor Leaguers, but Young was able to locate the positives from his performance. "The ball was coming out of my hand with some life, so I was happy with that," Young said. "My changeup was very, very good. I'm very happy with the way that pitch has progressed." The 27-year-old is hoping to build on his breakout performance from last year, when he ranked among the National League's top 10 in ERA (3.46), WHIP (1.13) and K/9 IP (8.2).
